Chlorofluorocarbon(CFC)

A harmful gas that’s present in the Earth’s atmosphere, it is declared as

the main substance that is depleting the ozone layer of the earth.
 Ozone layer.
• A small region in earth’s atmosphere that contains a high amount of
ozone gas (O3 )

• The main task of ozone gas is to absorb most of the UV rays that is
emitted from the sun.
Sources of CFCs
• Aerosol sprays

• Air-conditioner

• Fridge
Bad effects brought forth by CFCs
• Depletion of ozone layer

• Causes UV rays to pass through the earth’s atmosphere right away

since the ozone layer is not functioning anymore

• This indirectly aggregates the problem of global warming as it is

contributing to further melting of the ice caps
