Abstract

This project is titled that “Design and fabrication of an

portable Arc and Spot welding machine”.Arc welding is the
most commonly used welding technique for variety of
purposes.Arc welding with the transformer welding machine
depends upon the fundamental fact “When one side of the
welding circuit is attached to the piece of steel, a welding
electrode is connected to the other side. when two ends are
brought in to contact arc will be established, this arc is used
for welding process.
.

We studied about welding machines and found that welding

machine uses an Step down transformer as the necessary
source for welding operations. The transformers used in
welding machines are costly as well as bulky. So, We made
our own transformer according to the specificatin of an
welding transformer. Our modified transformer is suitable for
both Arc and Spot welding operations at low cost.
