existence since the 9th century, the
old site and ruins of the fort can be
seen in the southern part of the city.
The Raipur region got developed by
various rulers throughout the
centuries who gave it multiple
famous temples and structures.
The city itself is believed to be
established during the 13th Century,
named after its then ruled Brahmdeo
Rai as ‘Raipur’.
