• Some examples would be teepees, moccasins, kayaks, canoes,
cotton, and rubber
• 60% of the world’s food supply
comes from the American
Indian’s agriculture
• Foods we eat were first grown
by Native Americans
Values
• Native Americans have contributed many values

• Respect for Mother Nature

• Respect for the Great Spirit (God)

• Respect for Fellow Man

• No poor, No rich

• Respect for the aged, family tradition,

• Honest leadership, bravery, courage


Culture
• Modern youth groups such as Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Campfire
Girls and the YMCA Indian Guides; all include programs based
largely on Indian lore, arts and crafts, character building and
outdoor camp, craft, and living
• Indians strive in song, painting,
art, and sculpture (Pottery)
• Indian art, designs and styles have
strongly influenced modern design, architecture and music.
• The name “Utah” was actually derived from the Ute Indians
