American Citizens’ Responsibilities:
Obey laws
- Create a safe and orderly environment for you and others

Serve on a jury
- Right to a jury trial in America means that most adults must serve on juries.

Paying taxes
- This money helps the government pay for services such as roads, parks, schools,
police, and courts.
Civic Responsibilities
Civics - study of rights and responsibilities of citizens.

Take part in your community by solving problems and making


decisions.

● When it snows, shovel your sidewalk.


● Volunteer at a church or raise money for the school library.

You (the students) are required by law to go to school

Learn about the United States history and government, so you can grow up to be
active, informed citizens.

● Keep your school a safe and pleasant place to learn.
● Help students who are being bullied.
● Befriend a student who sits by themselves at lunch.
