Lesson Preparation

• Clearly define content and language objectives


• Content objectives: describe what the students will learn
• Language objectives: how the students will learn the content
• Use supplementary materials (Ex: graphic organizer, images,
multimedia)
• Outlines and highlight key text
Build Background

• Self-selection Vocabulary
• Word Wall
• Concept Definition Map
Comprehensible Input

• Explain academic tasks


• Scaffolding
• Use a variety of question types and allow appropriate wait time
for response
