Types of Quantitative Research
1.Descriptive
2.Correlational
3.Causal-Comparative
4.Experimental
5.Quasi-experimental
Types of Quantitative Research
1 Descriptive research
• It describes an existing phenomenon
by using numbers to characterize the
group of individuals
• Data which are typically numeric are
collected through surveys, interviews,
and observation.
Types of Quantitative Research
2 Correlational research
• It assesses relationship between two
or more phenomena.
• The correlation between two variables
does not mean that one variable cause
the other, but it can be used to predict
their values.
Types of Quantitative Research
3 Causal-comparative research
• It attempts to establish cause-effect
relationships among the variables.
• These variables usually involves
variables that cannot be manipulated
by the researcher
Types of Quantitative Research
4 Experimental research
• At least one variable is manipulated to
determine the effect of the
manipulation.
• Subjects are randomly assigned to
experimental treatment.
Types of Quantitative Research
5 Quasi-Experimental research
• At least one variable is manipulated to
determine the effect of the
manipulation.
• Intact and naturally formed groups.
