USED TO AND WOULD
 We use used to and would to talk about things
that happened regularly in the past but no
longer happen now.

She used to live in London when she was a girl.


(Ella solía vivir en Londres cuando era una niña)

They would walk around with one trouser leg


shorter than the other.
(Ellos solían caminar/caminaban con una bota del
pantalón más corta que la otra)
WOULD
 Form:
He would go fishing every weekend.
Would he go fishing every weekend?
He wouldn’t go fishing every weekend.
 Use:

We use would only to talk about activities.


USED TO
 Form:
(+) He used to go fishing.
(?) Did he use to go fishing?
(-) He didn’t use to go fishing.

Use:
We use used to to talk about activities and states.
He used to go fishing every weekend. (activity)
He used to be very shy when he was at school. (state)
