Independence day of the united states(independence day the fourth of July or English) is the national
holiday celebrated on July 4 in the united states. This day marks the signing of the declaration of
independence in 1776 in which the country proclaimed its formal separation from the British empire.
It is usually celebrated with many outdoor activities such as parades, baseball games and fireworks.
It is the traditional date of various motorsports, including the firecracker 400 NASCAR cup series at
Daytona, the grand prix of Cleveland champ car and the grand prix of Watkins glen indycar series.
HISTORICAL ANTECEDENTS

During American independence, the legal separation of the thirteen colonies of Britain occurred on
July 2, 1776, when the second continental congress voted to pass a resolution of independence that
had been proposed in June by Richard henry lee of Virginia declaring the united states independent
of great Britain. 12 after voting in favor of independence, congress focused its attention on the
declaration of independence, a statement explaining this decision, which had been prepared by a
committee of five, with Thomas Jefferson as its principal author. The congress debated and revised
the text of the declaration, finally approving it on 4 July.

LABOR DAY
Labor day, labor day is a federal holiday that is celebrated in the united states on the first Monday of
september. It originated in a parade held on september 5, 1882 in New York organized by the noble
order of the knights of labor (knights of labor). Inspired by a similar annual event held in Toronto
(Canada). In 1884 another parade and the knights of labor decided to do was done annually.
Other organizations, mostly affiliated to the first international, preferred on may 1, the date that
commemorates the start in 1886 a protest strike of the working day of eight hours and that had led to
the Haymarket riot in Chicago, three days later on 4 may. President Grover Cleveland believed that the
holiday on may 1 would be an opportunity for disorders. Therefore, fearing that would strengthen the
socialist movement rapidly in 1887 gave its support to the position of the knights of labor and their date
for labor day.
Since unlike most countries, the united states celebrates labor day on a different date.
CARIBBEAN CARNIVAL

The show that annually takes place in Brooklyn to celebrate Caribbean-American culture, with a
patriotic fervol where carnival-goers waved the flags of their countries of origin. The Caribbean
carnival in Brooklyn New York (also known as Brooklyn's west Indian labor day carnival and
parade).
The main event is the parade the day of the west indies, which attracts two to three million viewers.
Spectators and participants lived and followed the parade in route along eastern parkway. The
carnival is organized by the American association of carnival day west indies.
