deep and lasting love for reading.

to the age, interest and vocabulary level of the students
• The message of the story must be clear to the teacher
• Methods of clearing the obstructions should be planned.

2nd Prong
Critical
Thinking
2. Critical Thinking

In this stage, students are asked to

answer motive questions.
The discussion then unfolds the
events and the beauty of the
selection.
• The children arrive at this on their own pace guided by
the teachers question.

• Creative exercises may then follow to elevate their

reading/listening activity to a more aesthetic level when
they can understand the stry/poem on their own.

• Through this method of sharing literature, vocabulary is

developed, attention span is lengthen, listening
comprehension is honed and critical thinking, applied
daily becomes a habit.

• The child will catch this language and use it on their
conversation outside the school
• Story/poems gives the children a common experience
which they can talk about.
