Hybrid memory
Introduction of hybrid memory
• Hybrid Memory Cube (HMC) is a high-performance
RAM interface for through-silicon vias (TSV)-based
stacked DRAM memory competing with the
incompatible rival interface High Bandwidth
Memory (HBM).
Hybrid memory device
• Basically we use CMOS as hybrid memory device
• Complementary metal–oxide–semiconductor, is a
technology for constructing integrated circuits. ...
CMOS technology is also used for several analog
circuits such as image sensors (CMOS sensor), data
converters, and highly integrated transceivers for
many types of communication.
Structure of CMOS device
• CMOS (complimentary metal oxide semiconductor
field effect transistor ) device is made by p-chanal
MOSFET device and n-chanal MOSFET device which
calls NMOS & PMOS which gates are common
Working of CMOS
• In CMOS technology, both N-type and P-type
transistors are used to design logic functions. ...
CMOS offers relatively high speed, low power
dissipation, high noise margins in both states, and
will operate over a wide range of source and input
voltages (provided the source voltage is fixed).
Working of CMOS
• In CMOS technology, both N-type and P-type
transistors are used to design logic functions. The
same signal which turns ON a transistor of one type
is used to turn OFF a transistor of the other type.
This characteristic allows the design of logic devices
using only simple switches, without the need for a
pull-up resistor.

Applications of CMOS
• Computer memories, CPUs

• Microprocessor design

• Flash memory chip designing

• Used to design application specific integrated circuits
(ASICs)
