3 Axis milling of 3DPocket

• Open Powermill Pro & Import a 3D pocket

from directory examples from utility menu.

We need to inscribe the part in block. Hence,

Utility Menu Select block Active
Workplane Calculate Accept.
Tool selection

Utility Menu - Right Click - Create Tool –

Tip radius =0.5 - Shank - Add shank – x = 20,

y = 20, Height = 40 Holder - Add holder x = 30,
y = 30 - Close.
Create Strategy or Tool Path

Tool path - Right click - Create tool path -

Model & Area Clearance- Select thickness as

1mm - Step over =3mm - Step down=2mm -

Tolerance =0.1mm.
Step cutting

Enable step cutting- In wall finishing – Enable

the wall finishing tab – Enter 0.5 as final step

over or enable last pass only tab – Rest feature

can be manipulated as per requirement.

Finishing tool

Select tool – tip radius - Close Tool path - so

offset finishing – thickness = 0mm & Step over =

1mm - Enable automatic collision in automatic

verification - Calculate
Corner Finishing

Select Tool – Create tool – Ball nosed tip –

Diameter = 1mm – Close – Select Tool Path –

Finishing - Close
Finishing Tool Path

Select tool path - Finishing - Corner finishing -

Workplane -Active work plane - Block -

Calculate corner finishing – Calculate - Similar

simulations on previously done.

Check on view mill for simulation

Select tool - Right click - Activate select tool

start - Click on viewmill - Play
