The philosophy behind Holy Bible is that faith is the

biggest and most important thing in a life of a being
which one should never forego. It is the faith in that
almighty which keeps infusing us with energy and gives
a direction in this world. It is the believe in the
Almighty God and his son, Jesus Christ, which can
make life meaningful.
Amity Business School

There is a verse in Holy Bible (John 3:16) which has

been translated into more than 1100 languages which
has this very essence of Bible. It goes like this:

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only
begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should
not perish, but have everlasting life”
Amity Business School

In Timothy3:15, 16 the Holy Bible has something more

to say about this fact:

“…the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee
Wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ
Jesus”

Thus the quintessence of Holy Bible is undying
faith.

Management by values & essential

requisite for today’s global scenario
Amity Business School

Psalm 15
In psalm 15, it is said the person who enjoys the
presence of God and lives a blameless life is the
one who “speaks the truth from his heart” Because
this person values truth in his heart, his words
express truth. Because he values kindness, he
“does his neighbor no wrong” Because he values
honesty, he “keeps his oath even when it hurts”
Because he values justice, he “does not accept a
bribe against the innocent”

Leaders who are driven by values reap a great benefit

from the Lord. It is said they “will never be shaken.”
Regardless of what may happen around them, they can
live with full confidence that the right principles have
shaped their values and have guided their decisions.
That confidence will give them emotional and spiritual
stability. It will enable them to be leaders whom God
can use for his glory.
Amity Business School

Admit that working non-stop is unsustainable.

“The thing that you do is not good. Both you and these people
who are with you will surely wear yourselves out. For this
thing is too much for you; you are not able to perform it by
yourself”

Something would eventually break down. You can’t work

twelve-hour days, six days a week, and survive. Something
will eventually give: your health, your sanity, your family,
your career, or your legacy.
Amity Business School

Understand your unique calling.

“Listen now to my voice; I will give you counsel, and God

will be with you: Stand before God for the people, so that
you may bring the difficulties to God. And you shall teach
them the statutes and the laws, and show them the way in
which they must walk and the work they must do”

Moses needed to offload those things that others could do, so

he could focus on those things that only he could do. The
same is true for you. Where is it that you add value—
something that you are uniquely called and qualified to do?
How can you delegate the rest?
Amity Business School

Select qualified leaders to assist you.

“Moreover you shall select from all the people able men,
such as fear God, men of truth, [and] hating covetousness”

Notice that the focus is on character. Your people can gain

knowledge and experience, they can learn skills and develop
their gifts, but you must start with a foundation of godly
character. When you have this, it is much easier to delegate.
Amity Business School

Give these leaders responsibility and

authority
“… and place such over them to be rulers of thousands,
rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens. And let
them judge the people at all times”

These various management levels were not designed to

impede decision-making but to facilitate it. The key is in
giving your people authority. Will they make mistakes?
Absolutely. Get over it. This is part of the price you pay to
develop leaders.
Amity Business School

Only do those things which others cannot do

“Then it will be that every great matter they shall bring to

you, but every small matter they themselves shall judge. So it
will be easier for you, for they will bear the burden with you”

ERADICATING SOCIAL EVILS FROM
SOCIETY
Greed for money is not good: “For the love of money is the root of
all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith,
and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.”

Poverty is a social evil that need to be corrected: Bible has more

than 300 verses on poor, Social Justice and God’s concern for both. “He
who is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will reward him for
what he has done”

The first step toward improvement of sexual sin is to understand

and admit what you have done: Jesus said, “You have heard that it
was said to those of old, 'You shall not commit adultery.' "But I say to
you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already
committed adultery with her in his heart”
Amity Business School

 Pray each day: The Bible emphasizes that it should have a very high
priority in our lives. Continual prayer is very important to your
recovery. “Ardently seek an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ.
He will give you a richer, more meaningful life.”

 Confession: Confession can bring freedom and release from the

bondage of an overwhelming sense of shame.

STATUS OF WOMEN
Amity Business School

According to Bible women are not less than the men and have all
the rights equal to men.
There are some debates on this, as in Bible it is mentioned the
Eve was made from the ribs of Adam and the purpose of creating
the Eve was to help to Adam only.
 But later only Eve was the one who was allowed to eat the
Knowledge fruit from the Knowledge tree.
There are some other instances also when women are considered
to be as the” property of men” but there is the instruction from God
that “Wives are the gracious gift of the life and Husbands should
respect them so that nothing will hinder their prayers.”
These instances show that Women are considered to be weaker
than men in some cases like physically and as the server for Men
but they are considered to be mentally strong and good decision
makers.
Amity Business School

Status of women in Today’s world:

 There are no significance changes in the status of women

in today’s world than described in Bible.
 In Bible women are described as the knowledgeable
creature and the same scenario is in the today’s world.
 The women are described as the helper of men in Bible
and being a Male dominated world the same scenario is in
the most of the world but this scene is changing rapidly.
 In Bible there are more harsh punishments for the women
than men for the same sin and in our society the same thing
happens even today.

Values/Principles for living that areAmity
emphasized
Business School

most strongly in the Bible

1. Worship only God

• The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all
your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all
your strength.

• In today's world, many things compete against God for our devotion.
These are some of the things that can become modern-day idolatry if we
let them become too important to us:

 Excessive attention to material things such as houses, cars, clothes,

jewelry, physical appearance, entertainment, etc.
 Pursuit of wealth, power, fame, pleasure or status
 Excessive devotion to self, job, hobbies, country, ideologies, heroes,
leaders, even family
2. Respect all people Amity Business School
•'Love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no commandment greater than these."
•Jesus' Golden Rule is, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."
•We should not say or do anything unless we can answer "Yes" to the question,
•"Would I want that said or done to me?" Neither should we fail to do the good things we would
expect of others.

3. Be humble
•Humility or being humble is a quality of being courteously respectful of others.
• Acting with humility does not in any way deny our own self worth.
•Rather, it affirms the inherent worth of all persons.
•Humility is exactly what is needed to live in peace and harmony with all persons.
•Humility distinguishes the wise leader from the arrogant power-seeker

4. Be honest
•Honesty and integrity are held as very important values throughout the Bible and any deception
to gain an advantage or harm another is prohibited by the bible. .
•Deception may be by false statements, half-truths, innuendo, or failing to tell the whole truth.
•It is all too common in advertising, business dealings, politics and everyday life.
•We must strongly resist the temptation to engage in any form of theft, cheating, deception,
innuendo, slander or gossip.
5. Live a moral life-
Amity Business School
• Jesus gave a list of actions that constitute immoral uses of the body: evil thoughts, murder,
adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander, greed, malice, deceit, lewdness,
envy, arrogance and foolishness.

6. Be generous with time and money

•The Bible tells us to share generously with those in need, and good things will come to us in
turn.
•Each of us has something to offer to someone in need. We can give our money and our time to
charity, be a friend to someone who is sick or lonely, do volunteer work or choose a service-
oriented occupation.
•We may give unselfishly of our time to our spouse, children or parents.

7. Practice what you preach; don't be a hypocrite

•If there was any one group of people that Jesus couldn't stand, it was hypocrites!
•It is not the things we say that really matter; it is the things that we do.

8. Don't be self-righteous
•No one is perfect; we are all sinners in one way or another.
•Living a moral life means taking responsibility for controlling our own behavior.
9. Don't hold a grudge Amity Business School

• Jesus said there is no place for hatred, holding a grudge, revenge, retaliation in
one’s life.
• Bearing a grudge and seeking revenge are never appropriate responses to a
perceived wrong.
• A grudge destroys the grudge-holder with bitterness, and revenge only escalates
hostilities.
• Jesus said we must reconcile with our adversaries, forgive their transgressions, and
let go of the anger that may tempt us to commit an act of revenge.

10. Forgive others

• If you forgive those who sin against you, your heavenly Father will forgive you.
• But if you refuse to forgive others, your Father will not forgive your sins.
• God is merciful and forgives our sins and failings. In the same way, we must be
merciful and forgive other people who sin against us or do us harm.
Amity Business School

Conflict management
• It is suggested that solving interpersonal conflicts has a
higher priority than anything else; even offering a
sacrifice to God.
• The prophets are held responsible of providing human
skills to solve conflicts between believers.
“…have them serve as judges for the people at all
times, but have them bring every difficult case to you; the
simple cases they can decide themselves. That will
make your load lighter, because they will share it with
you. If you do this and God so commands, you will be
able to stand the strain, and all these people will go
home satisfied.”
Amity Business School

Contd…
• Before making any decision about the conflict, it is
essential to listen to all the parties.
“Any story sounds true until someone tells the other side
and sets the record straight.”

• The Bible suggests it is not that a manager has to

intervene in all the cases of conflicts instead many cases
can be solved with the proper communication between
the employees.
Amity Business School

Stress management
• Stress isn’t the cause but the effect. It is a reaction to
danger – real or imagined.
• Dr. Cooper described stress with reference to King Saul
after David killed Goliath.
• Stress is not always a negative thing, if properly
managed it can lead to development and growth.
• Stressful situations are viewed as opportunities of growth
by the effective leaders.
“Until we allow God to take us to his spiritual gym and
intentionally place us under stress in a controlled
environment, we wont grow into leaders he designed us
to be.”
