Flow of the pump for Sprinklers & Hydrants

[10%-15% capacity of the main pump, meant to handle leakages]

•1000 M2 – one wet riser

•60m & Above guide line Diameter

of pipe should be 150mm.

•Buildings: 12M2 / Sprinkler

•Basements: 9M2 / Sprinkler (2.6 ~3m

Spacing between sprinklers)
4.1 LPM per 20sqm
3-7% Foam - 93%Water

10.1 LPM per m2

Water Curtain needs : 750m2/compartment to ensure smoke doesn't flow from

one compartment to other
Helipad System @ Terrace level
Average Pressure requirement of the
fire pump would be 7 to 8.8Kg/Cm2

Service floors at every 8~10 Floors

If Height is more than 45m. Then it has to be divided in
two zones Low zone & High Zone.

To Design the system, so that pump can be utilized:

1) For both the zone Use 2 separate pumps with the

two separate tanks @ the basement.

2) Use the pumps @ the intermittent floors.

3) Use Gravity systems.

4) Best option would be all the pumping system should

be at the Basement & All the zones should be
supplied from the base.(Considering Construction
Economic design, Piping & Valves, Maintenance)
If Height is more
than 45m. Then it
has to be divided in
two zones Low
zone & High Zone.
Best option would be to use Multi stage Multi Outlet Pumps.
.h = difference of each zone lowest portion to the pump center line.

.s = difference of pressure between the highest sprinkler of the zone & the pump
centerline.
High Zone

Low Zone
Maintenance is reduced
