Do’s and Don’ts

At the Library
Do…
Listen to what the librarian
has to say. She is very
knowledgeable about the
library and the resources in
the collection.
Don’t...
Do not interrupt the librarian
while she is delivering a
lesson. If it is a pressing
matter, you can leave a note or
send an email with the urgent
code.
Do...
● Ask for help!
● Ask me if you have ANY
doubt!
● Ask if you need help
finding materials.
● Just Ask!
Don’t...
When you don’t ask, it may be
a little difficult to help
you. If you are not sure and
just guess, you are truly not
helping yourself.

Don’t stay with a question,

ASK!
Do...
Treat your librarian with
respect. Remember that she
is a resourceful
professional. She is there
to help and assist you as
well as collaborate with you.
Don’t…
The librarian is a
professional. Don’t treat
the librarian as someone who
just “shelves” the books, she
can be a GREAT resource and
collaborator!
Do...
Always return the materials
and resources you have
checked out. Someone else
might benefit from using them
as well.
Don’t…
Don’t keep materials or
resources longer than you
checked them out for.
Do...

Show your librarian you care!
