ABOUT THE COMPANY

Introduction
M/s. Meghalaya Hotels Private Limited, a company in corporate under the Companies Act 1956
on 30th March 1984 vides Certificate of Incorporation No. 4592 of 1983-84. The Company
carries the brand. name of reputed business\groups of GMR Vasavi and Bommidala. The Origin
of the Hotel can be traced back on 1984, when Sri Gelli Satyam and his associated acquired
land admeasuring 2606 Sq. yards, located at Asilmetta on long lease of 50 years from Sri
Kommuru Appada Dora. The Hotel Commenced Commercial operations as Two Star hotel in
October 1987.

It was in 1993 that The GMR Vasavi Group and the Bommidala Group took over the Hotel from
the founder promoters. On takeover, an expansion program was initiated at a total cost of Rs.
450.00 lakhs with the financial assistance of Rs. 200.00 lakhs from the Tourism Finance
Corporation of India Ltd., Later, during the FY 2004-05, The same was taken over by Union Bank
of India.

Sampath Bhawan, Budget class Hotel at Rajam, Srikakulam District.

Hotel at small scale level was started in the year 1998 at Rajam by taking premises on lease
basis, with a room capacity of 10 budget rooms along with restaurant. From the day one the
hotels is doing is extremely well, Rajam has got good potential being surrounded by no. of
industries like sugar, Cement, Power, Jute, Steel, Solvent Oil Extractions, Rice Mills etc.
Rajam is going rapidly with International Standard Schools, Colleges, & Hospitals set by the
GMR Group. Sampath Rail Yatri Niwas, Howrah on lease basis with IRCTC for a period of 15
years and now we are in Eighth Year. This is another hotel taken on lease basis from IRCTC
with Room Capacity of about 36 No's, with Restaurant Area about 8,000 Sq. feet. the
Property is on the Howrah Railway station facing famous Hooghly River, from the day one it
is doing extremely well with occupancy rate of around 120% on an average.

Meghalaya Hotel is located at the heart of the city just 1.5 kms. From the Railway station, a short
distance from the bus station and the commercial hub of city. It is about 11 kms from the Airport.

Constructed on 2606 sq. Yards and its has built up area 4369 sq. meters with 107 well appointed rooms
equipped with super key tag system, direct dialup telephone, individual thermostat for air conditioning,
CTV.

The hotel property was acquired by the present management headed by Shree. G.Ch. Sanyasi Raju (alias
Suresh Babu). The management there after has taken up a major renovation and expansion of the hotel
from time to time and has up-graded the property to suit to the needs of the needs of the
business class travelers and positioned itself in the Three Star Segment and today it is one of the
prominent hotels in Visakhapatnam having good reputation and patronage among the business
travelersandgeneralpublic.
