• Led by the State Education Director and assisted by
a Deputy Director as well as the ten Sector Heads.
• State Education Director is responsible for
implementation of educational programmes, projects
and activities in their respective states.
• They are fully responsible to the General Director of
Malaysian Education.
• In Sabah and Sarawak, the State Education Director
and Deputy Director of State Education are
responsible to their respective Chief Ministers.

• Consists of the District Education Office ( Paninsula)
the Affliate and District Education office (Sabah and
Sarawak)

• Acts as an agent for the State Education Department


and the Ministry of Education in the policy
implementation of policy, programmes and activities at
district level.
ROLES OF DISTRICT EDUCATION OFFICE

• Provide advice to the Principal.


• Assist schools on curriculum development.
• Provide information to the State Education Department in
relation to teaching and learning.
• Identify teachers who need to attend courses.
• Assisting Examination Board in examination management.
• The admission of pupils to secondary schools and students’
transfer.
