WHAT IS WEB 2.0? WHAT ARE SOME EXAMPLES?

• An WEB 2.0 is an website that gives user the ability to interact with it in some
manner. Users are able to post and edit the content on the web page.
• Social media is a form of WEB 2.0
• Examples of WEB 2.0 are Wikipedia, Kahoot, Dotstorming, Google Sites,
Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

INTRODUCTION AND DESCRIBING THE CLIPS

• Clips is an iOS video editing application that was developed by Apple Inc.
• Clips allows users to make videos with text, effects, and images. It’s available
on iPhones and iPads.
• Videos on Clips are recorded in a square format.
• Videos can be shared on any platform that can handle the MPEG format such
as different social media websites/applications and iMessage.

HOW CLIPS WORKS AND FEATURES/CAPABILITIES OF CLIPS
• Within the application, you can record a video or select video clips from your
photo/video library. Once you have recorded/selected video you can add
emojis, stickers, text, music and filters. When you are done you can share the
video in iMessage.
Features/Capabilities are:
- Can add live captions to videos as you speck in 8 different text styles.
- Can add emojis in the video and place them anywhere. As well has labels that
can be added such as “Hello”, “Day One” and has labels that are based on
your location.
- It comes with royalty-free music that can be downloaded to use in videos and
loops automatically
- Has various sections of posters that can be added that state “check this out” Slide #5
and “To be continued”
CONTINUED FEATURES/CAPABILITIES

- You can use your own music that you have purchased through the iTunes
library. Music will automatically lower when scenes with audio come on.
- Users that have added multiple clips have the option to rearrange them within
the timelines by dragging and dropping.
- In the application, the videos are exported at 1080 x 1080 and have the
feature of having multiple share buttons for Instagram, Facebook, Vimeo and
YouTube.
- Has the option to record with Selfie Scenes that provide a full 360-degree
backgrounds such as clouds, high noon, big backyard, monster lab, animal
forest, cityscape etc.

HOW CLIPS CAN BE USED FOR EDUCATIONAL USES

• The live captions could be useful in a classroom for students that are learning
English it would help them recognize the words.
• Teachers/Professors that make videos could use the Clips application to make
the videos accessible to deaf and hard of hearing students that they may
have.
• Online teachers/professors can use Clips to explain subjects and the steps of
of assignments.

SAMPLES OF HOW I WOULD USE CLIPS IN MY
PROFESSION.
• As an Human Resource Development major, I would use it to make videos for
training employees.
• I would use it to ensure that all employees knew the main goals of the
organization by making a video and presenting it to them in a meeting.
• I would use it to ensure that all employees were aware of what needed to be
completed to achieve the goals of the organization.

ADVANTAGES OF CLIPS

• Since Clips has the feature of adding texts while you record an video, it
makes the videos more accessible for deaf and hard of hearing individuals to
watch. With the captions deaf and hard of individuals can easily watch the
videos and don’t have to worry about reading the person’s lips.
• Clips can easily sync the videos easily to iCloud so it makes it easy to view
and edit them on other IOS devices.

DISADVANTAGES OF CLIPS

• One of the disadvantages are that it’s only available for ISO devices such as
iPhones and iPads so android users aren’t able to access it.
• Even through the Live Captions are a excellent feature it doesn’t always hear
the words correctly that it leads mishear or exclude words.
• Users aren’t able to cut music out of specific scenes in the video, the music is
added over the whole video.
