‫بين الجهاز الكمبيوتر‬

‫‪-1‬قم يتوصيل كيبل )‪ )consolecable‬الى بوابة السوتش‬
‫كما في الشكل التالي ‪:‬‬

‫‪ .2‬توصيل الـــجهة األخــرى من‬

‫الكيــــبل (‪) usp cable‬الى‬
‫جهاز الكـــمبيــــوتــــر ثم ربط‬
‫الكيبل األول مع الثاني وذلك عن‬
‫طريق )‪ )LpT‬من كل جهة من‬
‫الكيبل كما في الشكل التالي ‪:‬‬
‫‪ .3‬توصيل )‪ ) power cable‬إلى السوتش كما في‬
‫الشكل التالي ‪:‬‬

‫‪.4‬يتم تحميل ملف تعريف ال )‪ )console cable‬عن طريق‬

‫االنترنت وذلك عن طريق الرابط التالي كما هو موضح في‬
‫الشكل التالي مع مراعاة التأكد من نظام التشغيل ‪Windows‬‬
‫الموجود على جهازك وكم هو (‪ 32‬بت) أو (‪ 64‬بت) ‪.‬‬

Installing the Device with InstallShield
This section will guide you how to install the PL-2303
Windows Driver. You can download the latest Driver
Installer program from Prolific support website:
http://www.prolific.com.tw/eng/downloads.asp?ID=31
Note:
Please take notice of the installation order. First, run the
Driver Installer Program before plugging in the USB to
Serial adapter. If you already plug the device during the
driver installation, you need to replug the device for
Windows to enumerate the device and load the drivers
installed. If your device is embedded to the system, you
might need to restart the system to reload and install the
driver.
The following steps will show how to install the device
under Windows 7 (64-bit) OS as this is the most inquired
driver support received by Prolific. The procedures are
somewhat the same and straightforward for all other
Windows operating systems versions.
(1) Power on your
computer and boot to
Windows. Run or
double-click the PL-
2303 Driver Installer
program.

(2) The InstallShield

Wizard will be
displayed to inform you
that the PL-2303 USB-
to-Serial driver will be
installed on your
computer. Click Next to
continue
(3) The PL-2303 Driver
Installer program will
then start to install the
drivers needed.

(4) Click the Finish button

to close the InstallShield
program. If you have
plugged the cable into the
PC while running the
setup installation, please
unplug and replug the
cable for the system to
detect the device.
(5) Plug in the USB to
Serial adapter to the PC
USB port. Windows
should detect the driver
as Prolific USB-to-Serial
Comm Port. Go to Device
Manager and check for
the “Prolific USB-to-Serial
Comm Port” device and
the COM port number
assigned by Windows
(6) You can also check the
driver version by right-
clicking on the “Prolific USB-
to-Serial Comm Port” device
and select Properties and
Driver tab.

Warning!!!
If you are encountering yellow
mark (Error Code 10) for device
in Device Manager, you need to
contact the cable vendor or
manufacturer for Prolific
genuine chip validity. Prolific
does not manufacture any end-
user cable products and will not
provide direct support to end-
users.
Uninstalling the Device
Driver
To uninstall the PL-2303
driver, follow the below
steps:
1. Click Start – Control Panel
– Uninstall a Program (Add
or Remove Programs). Look
for the “PL-2303 USB-to-
Serial” program and click the
Uninstall (Remove) button.

2. InstallShield Wizard will

then start the maintenance
program and will prompt
you to choose if you want to
modify, repair, or remove
the driver. Click the Remove
button and click Next to
begin the driver uninstall.
3. The InstallShield Wizard
will prompt you to confirm
to uninstall. Click Yes to
continue.

4. Wait for the

InstallShield Wizard to
complete the uninstall
process. When
complete, click Finish to
end the program. Wait
for some few seconds
until the “PL-2303 USB-
to-Serial” program is
removed from the
Control Panel Uninstall
(Add or Remove
Programs) program list

‫‪ -2‬يتم اختيار االيقونات ‪.‬‬
‫كما هو موضح بالشكل التالي ‪:‬‬

‫بعد ذلك يجب التأكد من إدارة األجهزة للكمبيوتر للتأكد من الرقم ال(‪)com‬‬
‫و وضعة في مربع (‪)serial line‬كما هو موضح في صورة ( ‪putty‬‬

PASSWORD RECOVERY FOR Cisco Catalyst
L2 and L3 Switches

Introduction
This document describes the password recovery procedure
for the Cisco Catalyst Layer 2 fixed configuration switches
2900XL/3500XL, 2940, 2950/2955, 2960, and 2970 Series, as
well as the Cisco Catalyst Layer 3 fixed configuration
switches 3550, 3560, and 3750 Series.
Step-by-Step Procedure
Follow the password recovery procedure below.
1- Attach a terminal or PC with terminal emulation
(for example, Hyper Terminal) to the console port of
the switch.
Use the following terminal settings:
Bits per second (baud): 9600
Data bits: 8
Parity: None
Stop bits: 1
Flow Control: Xon/Xoff
1- Unplug the power cable.
2- Power the switch and bring it to the switch:

For 2900XL, 3500XL, 2940, 2950, 2960, 2970, 3550,
3560, and 3750 series switches, do this:
Hold down the mode button located on the left side of
the front panel, while you reconnect the power cable to
the switch.

Catalyst Switch Series LED Behavior and Mode Button Release Action
2900XL, 3500XL, 3550 Release the Mode button when the LED above Port1x goes out.
Release the Mode button after approximately 5 seconds when the
2940, 2950 Status (STAT) LED goes out. When you release the Mode button,
the SYST LED blinks amber.
Release the Mode button when the SYST LED blinks amber and
2960, 2970 then turns solid green. When you release the Mode button, the
SYST LED blinks green.
Release the Mode button after approximately 15 seconds when
3560, 3750 the SYST LED turns solid green. When you release the Mode
button, the SYST LED blinks green.
Note: LED position may Catalyst 2950-24
vary slightly depending on
the model.
Catalyst 3524XL
The Catalyst 2955 series switches do not use an
external mode button for password recovery. Instead
the switch boot loader uses the break-key detection
to stop the automatic boot sequence for the
password recovery purposes. The break sequence is
determined by the terminal application and operating
system used. Hyperterm running on Windows 2000
uses Ctrl + Break. On a workstation running UNIX,
Ctrl-C is the break key. For more information, refer to
Standard Break Key Sequence Combinations During
Password Recovery.
The example below uses Hyperterm to break into
switch: mode on a 2955.
