• Tingalan
Jumeneng
Dalem is a series
of ceremonies
held for
celebrate the
anniversary of
the coronation
of the Sultan’s
Throne.
Here is
the series of
ceremonies that
are done..
Ngebluk Ngebluk
 Ngebluk is a traditional
activity to make the
dough of “apem cake”
(traditional pancake of
Yogyakarta).
 This customs done 2 days
before the ceremony of
Hajad Dalem Labuhan.
Located in Bangsal Sekar
Kedhaton, a place that is
in the scope of Kaputren
or the residence of the
Princess of the King.
Ngebluk should only be
done by the women led
by the Empress and the
King’s eldest Daughter.
Ngapem • After the procession of
Ngebluk, the next day series
of this ceremony followed by
Ngapem. A procession to
make traditional pancake,
wet cake with round shape
and sweet taste.
• The apem to be made is
divided into two size, a small
and a large apem or called
Apem Mustaka. Apem
Mustaka is arranged
according to the height of
Sultan’s body.
Preparing The Ubarampe
 Ubarampe is a set of
Sultan’s clothes had used, a
set of Javanese clothes for
men and women, pieces of
nails and haircuts of the
Sultan and “layon sekar.”
 Ubarambe brought from
Kawedanan Hageng
Punakawan Widya Budaya to
Bangsal Manis, then installed
in Gedhong Prabayeksa.
Sugengan
This ceremony held
right on anniversary of
Sultan’s coronation day,
which is attended by
the relatives of the
palace, and Abdi Dalem.
In Sugengan, they
prayed and hoped to
the God for Sultan’s
walfare and the palace’s
prosperity.
Labuhan Ceremony Procession
• This traditional activity held
next day after the Sugengan
procession.
• Labuhan mean that all
Ubarampe, that had been
prepared, being paraded from
Gedhong Prabayeksa to
Bangsal Srimangati to be
dispatched to each petilasan.
Petilasan location for
Labuhan ceremonies include
Parangkusumo, Mount
Merapi, Mount Lawu, and
Dlepih Khayangan.

• Kasongan is one of
the tourist
destination in
Bantul Regency,
Yogyakarta.
Precisely located in
Kerukuhan Kajen,
Bangunjiwo Village,
Kasihan District.

pottery is
produced by the
society around
the village with
various motifs
like dragons,
flower, peacock,
and many other.

piggy bank, and home furniture

sought after furniture is a jug of
various shapes. The jug from
Kasongan is cheap, but the quality
is quite good as a natural cooler of
drinking water.
In Kasongan, you not only can walk around while shopping,
but also can see the process of making the craft made of clay
(pots, vases, or jars). You can learn to make pottery in the
production house.
