Despite continuous gains in employment and the

country’s progress, the PWD sector /
community remain the most untapped labor
resource..

• Over 70 % of the PWD are unemployed or have disguised

employment

• Disabled population amounts to about 4-5% of the countries

population

• Most of the disabled living in rural parts of the country do not

have access to skills required to be gainfully employed and also
have dismal literacy levels .

• There is an urgent need to promote enterprises which either

hire disabled people in majority or our run by people with
