FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM

------------------
Multi Point Fuel Injection System
INTRODUCTION

• A Multi-point injection system is also called

as port injection, has an injector in the port
(air-fuel passage) going to each cylinder.

• Mixture is sprayed into each intake port and

toward each intake valve.

SENSORS USED IN MPFI
• Mass airflow sensor –

• Oxygen sensor(s) –

• Throttle position sensor –

• Coolant temperature sensor –

• Voltage sensor –

• Manifold absolute pressure sensor –

• Engine speed sensor -

Advantages Of MPFI
Immediate response,
Uniform A/F Mixture in case of sudden
acceleration / deceleration.

Improved Advantages Low

Mileage Emission

Accurate Supply Of Easy Cranking

A/F Mixture Of Engine
CONCLUSION
• Almost all vehicles in India are changing to the
MPFI because of low emissions, improved mileage
and drivability

• since the engine is controlled by micro computer

more accurate amount of a/f mixture will be
supplied and as a result complete combustion will
take place.

• This leads to effective utilization of fuel supplied

and hence low emission level.
