I. God’s love is costly
and extravagant.
How great is the love the Father
has lavished on us, that we
should be called children of God!
And that is what we are! The
reason the world does not know
us is that it did not know him.
1 John 3:13
This is how God
showed his love
among us: He sent his one
and only Son into the
world that we might live
through him.
1 John 4:9
II. God’s love is
unconditional.
But God demonstrates his
own love for us in this:
While we were still
sinners, Christ died for us.
Romans 5:8
4 But because of his
great love for us, God,
who is rich in mercy, 5made
us alive with Christ even
when we were dead in
transgressions — it is by
grace you have been saved.
Ephesians 2:4,5
III. God’s love is
limitless.
This is how God showed his love among
us: He sent his one and only Son into the
world that we might live 35 Who shall
separate us from the love of Christ? Shall
trouble or hardship or persecution or
famine or nakedness or danger or sword
. . . 37No, in all these things we are
more than conquerors through him who
loved us. Romans 8:35,37
Dear friends, let us
love one another,
for love comes from God.
Everyone who loves has
been born of God and
knows God.
