Brief of the Accident

Location : Abudhabi , Date : 20th sept. 2010

Details : –
One of the chemicals industries of Abudhabi,
acid was being handling and storage for
supplying to the others industries. For that
purpose, a group of workmen were trained to
handle that acid one place to another place
safely.
On 20th September 2010 one of the trained
workmen found absent, so a new workmen
was deployed to do the job in the absent of
trained workmen. But he was having the skilled
of the different job categories.
During this activities ,
 Observations :
Workmen was new for the that activities.
 Hand gloves was having a hole.
There is not a safety training procedure to
involve the new workmen in such a work.
No MSDS details displayed near by the
location.

• Chemical splash goggles.

• Respiratory protection.

• Acid resistant hand gloves(PVC).

• Gum boot
 Learning from the accident

 Never deployed a new & untrained

workmen in any hazardous chemical
handling jobs.
 Always select the healthy PPE’S as per
jobs requirements.
 Workmen must be trained and validated for
each and every job categories.
 Immediately consul the doctor in case of
any chemical contact or burn.
