Poverty is characterized by the inability of households to afford basic needs


such as food, clothing and shelter to support life. In the year 2005, 80.65% of
households in Barangay Cag-olango had income less than the poverty
threshold (P13257 per capita per year). The poverty incidence is even worse
in Purok 3 where all the households are considered poor.
