NEPTUNE- It’s distance from the
sun is 2,782,670,707 KM
■ Neptune- Is 3.9x larger than Earth
-Dark, cold and whipped by supersonic winds also this type
of planet is an Ice Giant.
-It is the eighth and most distant planet in our solar system.
-Neptune cannot support life.

Voyager 2- is the only spacecraft to have visited Neptune.


RINGS

■ Neptune has 5 known Rings:

■ *La Verrier
■ *Lassell
■ *Arago
■ *Adams
■ These rings are composed of at least 20% dust with some of the rings containing as
much as 70% dust, and the rest are small rocks.

-Galle is the nearest of the Neptune’s ring at 41,000 – 43,000 Kilometers
