-also known as Abba, this highest-
ranking deity was described as
“may kapal sa lahat”, or the creator
of everything. His origin is unknown
but his name suggests Hindu influences.
According to William Henry Scott, the
name Bathala was derived from the
Sanskrit “bhattara” which means “noble
lord”.

- is a genderless deity that is depicted
as a bird in the Philippine mythology.
According to the folklore, Amihan is
first creature to inhabit the universe,
along with the gods called Bathala and
Aman Sinaya.

- the ancient Philippine goddess of
the sea, and the protector of fisher-
men. Before, when all the earth was

she made her waves so tall and it
