INTRODUCTION
 According to (WHO), around 285 million people
around the world are visually impaired.
 Different problems faced by blind in day to day
life.
 An combination of various technology like OCR,
Virtual Assistant and home automation.
 It uses raspberry pi-3 and requires Google API
for virtual assistant with home automation.
LITERATURE SURVEY
 In this paper, “Raspberry Pi based reader for
blind”,[1] authors Ankush Goel and Supriya
Khatvkar have said that the inbuilt images are
converted into machine encoded text then this is
converted to audio output.

 "IOT based home automation by using personal

assistant,“[2] paper explains about a personal
assistant that helps users to interact with
devices to provide a interactive and user friendly
living experience.
 In this paper ”HuBot Voice Controlled Human
Assistant ”, [3] author give brief information
about a voice controlled machine to overcome the
disability or immobility for visually impaired as
well as old age people.

 “Real Time Text Detection and Recognition on

Hand Held Objects for Blind People”[4] authors
Samruddhi Deshpande and Ms. Revati Shriram.
It explains about daily use product label
detection
 “Voice Controlled Personal Assistant Using
Raspberry Pi”[5] where authors can explain
about voice as an input to convert into text using
a speech to text engine.

 “A Smart Reader for Blind People[6] authors V. V

Govekar and Prof. Meenakshi, integration of
raspberry pi and python. The system consists of a
webcam interfaced with raspberry pi which
accepts a page of printed text.
 ”An Intelligent Virtual Assistant Using Raspberry Pi
”, [7] this paper authors , G. Ashwini, M. Nithish
Reddy, R. Paramesh, P. Akhil implementation of a
Voice Command System as an Intelligent Virtual
Assistant (IVA) that can perform numerous tasks or
services for an individual. And voice will be operate
only when the person uses it else it will not.

 “Text conversion in the desired language using

Raspberry Pi”,[8] the authors H. Rithika and B. N.
Santhoshi explain the process of how text present on
paper is converted to string first and then that text
string is read aloud by Text-to-Speech.
