cloths. The Headmaster asked the students to work together and
cleaned their respective classrooms. This was to ensure that their
classrooms would be spotless as well as a conducive study
environment.
Some of the boys washed and wiped the windows using some
wet cloths. Meanwhile, the girls swept the floor and threw the
rubbish into the dustbin. Then, they also mopped the floor. The rest
of the students rearranged the chairs and tables neatly and tidily. It
was really hard work to finish cleaning up their classrooms. Every
students worked up to their bones.
By late afternoon, every single classroom was spotlessly clean.
They were as clean as a new pin. The Headmaster inspected each
class. He praised the students on their impressive work. It was a job
well done. Then, the students proceeded to the canteen and had a
hearty lunch prepared by the teachers. It was an unforgettable day
and they enjoyed themselves very much.
Mak Limah is my neighbour. She is a farmer’s wife and she lives
with her family in a small wooden shack at the end of the village.
One day, Mak Limah was alone at home. Her family was busy
working in the paddy field. She was in the midst of preparing dinner for
them and was oblivious to her surroundings. Unbeknown to her, a long
black snake was slowly gliding into the house.
The snake started to move behind Mak Limah and it was on the
brink of attacking her. Only her beautiful pet cat, Putih, saw the snake
and realized the danger her mistress was in. As quick as lightning, it
began to attack the snake with its sharp claws. The snake hissed
painfully. Mak Limah was really surprised and she nearly jumped out of
her skin. The two animals fought relentlessly until the snake was
defeated. It laid motionless on the floor.
Putih had bravely saved its mistress’s live. Mak Limah was grateful
to have such a courageous pet. She hugged Putih tightly and straightly
prepared a bowl of delicious cat food. Putih ate the served food greedily.
Mak Limah told her family about the incident. She thanked her lucky star
for having such a wonderful pet. They really loved Putih very much.
