• Empowering your employees means handing authority to them to undertake
their role as they determine best.
• It involves giving them the responsibility and autonomy to manage their own
jobs, set their own objectives and make decision about tasks, oriorities and
deadlines.
How to go about empowering our employees?

• Need to share top level vision- mission,objectives and strategy of


organisation.
• Maintain level of involvement, regularly engaging with employees to
communicate strategy and plans.
• Managers require to trust their staff that they will make right decisions and
will be effective.
• Managers need to give regular feedback so that they assess their own impact.
Benefits of employee empowerment:-

• Greater job satisfaction


• Increase motivation
• Greater autonomy stimulates creativity , brings innovation; along with
customer satisfaction.
Are there any drawbacks of employee
empowerment?

• Tendency to be lazy often leads to delay of tasks.


• Some have entrepreneurial spirit so always willing to take more risks so needs
supervision.
