Degus are small rodents similar to chinchillas that can live 6-8 years. They are herbivores and their diet should consist of pellets, seeds, alfalfa, timothy grass, and small amounts of fruits or vegetables. Their cage should be cleaned every two weeks by replacing soiled bedding. When cleaning, degus can be placed in a smaller temporary cage. Proper care also involves providing fresh water daily and not exposing degus to cold temperatures outdoors.

herbivorous animals. They live up to 6-8 years. 1. Food
This is her main
feed. Please fill it in a bowl twice a day, morning and evening around 8- 10 pieces 2. Snacks These two are her snacks that you can feed her basically anytime.(But not too much)
These can be used to
lure her back in to her cage incase she 1. Mixture of seeds accidentally escapes 2. Timothy Pellet from her cage 3. Alfalfa/Timothy I usually feed her two types of grasses, which are Alfalfa and Timothy. You can give her blocks of Alfalfa when she doesn’t have any in her cage, and use Timothy with the beddings that go in her cage(or just give it to her) 4. Small cage This is the small cage that you can use when you are cleaning the cage (she doesn’t really like being inside that cage) 5. Cage cleaning Please try to clean her cage every two weeks.
If you cannot clean it
for some reason, you can try to add more bedding into the cage floor. 6. Cautions 1. Don’t give her too much sweet things such as fruits or sweet potatoes ect.
2. Please do not put her cage out doors(where it’s too
cold)
3. Please check her water bottle in a regular basis (water
is important for her) Pages to get advice Mr.Johnson’s Degu petcare https://www.mrjohnsons.co.uk/petcare/degu/
