Communication

Presentation of Group 4
• Introduction
- communication defines as an act whereby one person
gives to, or receives from another individual, information about his
or her needs ,desires, perceptions, knowledge, or affective states.

- a process of sending and receiving signals(message)


through human source and human receiver.

- Communication can be intentional or unintentional.


Words are used to express ideas and are intended to have a
particular meaning. Sometimes these words communicate
something other than what is intended.
• Intentional and Unintentional
- its rely on the fact that message always have a
purpose. There is an intention when people communicate with
others. In fact, this intention is why we want to communicate in the
first place.
• Difference between Intentional and
Unintentional dimensions of Communication
Intentional Communication

• Refers to communication with a specific goal and mind.


• Means that one person is sending a message in a
purposeful way.

Unintentional Communication
• Refers to occasions when communication takes place
without the communicator being aware of it.
• Always non-verbal; it often comes in forms that are
demostrated unconciously

Influence of Culture

• Culture can affect how a person acts and give an impact


when present to another Society wherein he or she is
unaware of that is considered discourtious.
Influence of Gender

• In Gender, Men and women are different in the way they


communicate. Filipinos love to smile, and do smile a lot.
However, the smiles may express different emotions, not just
happiness. A student smiling during an exam may make the
teacher thinsk that the exam is easy. On the contrary, the smile
may mean nervousness about being able to answer all the
questions or not.
