Building a Strong

Family in
Challenging Times
Psalm 127:1,2
“Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it; unless the Lord guards the
city, the watchman stays awake in vain. It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat
the bread of sorrows; for so He gives His beloved sleep.”
Psalm 127:1,2

“Unless the Lord builds the house, they

labor in vain who build it; unless the Lord
guards the city, the watchman stays awake in
vain. It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up
late, to eat the bread of sorrows; for so He
gives His beloved sleep.”

the Lord builds the house,
they labor in vain who build it; unless

God as
Builder
BIBLE. Families who read
God’s Word and obey
its principles will stand
strong amid life’s storms.

Matthew 7:24
“Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them
into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.
PRAYER. Prayer connects
the family to the real
Source of life, blessing,
love, strength, forgiveness,
humility – everything.

“The family that prays

together, stays together.”
Worship. “Attending church
services together and being active
in faith-based programs provide
your family with a wealth of taking
points, helping to facilitate
conversations and strengthen your
bonds.” – Molly Cunningham

Having family worship in the morning and in the evening is equally

important. You not only bond with your family; you also bond with the
Lord.
What a better way to start and end your day with God!
Psalm 127:1,2

“Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor

unless the Lord
in vain who build it;
guards the city, the watchman
stays awake in vain. It is vain for you to
rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of
sorrows; for so He gives His beloved sleep.”
God as
Protector
Nahum 1:7
“The Lord is good, a stronghold in the
day of trouble; and He knows those who
trust in Him.”

God promise His protection over those

who love and trust Him.

It is important to entrust our children in

prayer to God daily. – Ellen G. White
Psalm 127:1,2

“Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in

vain who build it; unless the Lord guards the city,
It is vain
the watchman stays awake in vain.
for you to rise up early, to sit up late,
to eat the bread of sorrows; for so He
gives His beloved sleep.”
God as
Provider

God is our great provider.

Matthew 6:33
“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness,
and all these things shall be added to you.”
Building a strong family in
these challenging times is
indeed a task beyond our
strength and power. We
need God’s help. Otherwise,
we are building in vain.
