Container ship

Introduction
• Container ships are cargo that carry all of their load
truck size inter modal containers, in a technique called
containerization. They are common means commercial
inter modal freight transport and now carry most sea
going non-bulk cargo.
Container ship sizes
TEU
• TEU stands for twenty-foot equivalent unit which can be used to
measure a ship’s cargo carrying capacity. The dimension of one TEU
are equal to that of standard 20 shipping container. 20 feet long, 8
feet tall. Usually 9-11 pallets are able to fit one TEU. Two TEU’s are
equal to one FEU (forty-foot equivalent unit).

The world larges container ships can carry in excess of 14,000 TEU’s
