In 2004, a lot of people were affected to get safe drinking water because

the Asian Tsunami, in the same way with the Hurricane Katrina in New
Orleans in 2005.
These two disasters inspired Michael Pritchard to create something new
that solves problems about the necessity of drinking water .

Pritchard created a kind of bottle called Lifesaver bottle. This bottle
converts contaminated water into purified water in only seconds because it
has a filter system. A new filter of this bottle can purify about 6000 liters of
dirty water
This invention helps poor comunities around the world that live near water
sources.
It reduces the number sick people, therefore it reduces the numer of
deaths.
Michael Pritchard said: “I’d like to show you that trough
thinking differently, the problem has been solved”
