increasing the spiritual,
political, social, educational,
gender, or economic strength of
individual and communities of
women.

The main problem faced by women in past and
present:-
 Gender discrimination
 Women education
 Dowry
 Domestic violence
 There should be a change in the mind set
of society on a fundamental level.
Cultural empowerment as such can be
achieved only when women are treated as
human beings.
 The Right to education.
 The Right to work as human being.
 The Right to the employment opportunities.
 The Right to equal remuneration.
 The right to protection of health and safety.
 The Right to make choice.
Constitution of india,1950:
 Article 14: equality.
 Article 15:prohibits discrimination of sex.
 Article 16: equality of opportunity for
employment.
 The 73 and 74 amendments to the
constitution of india provide for reservation
of seats.
 The pace of financial development of a
country increases.
 If women will be empowered, she will not be
a burden on anyone.
 Financial burden of man can be shared with
her support.
 Family will be more stronger because of
women participation.
 Gender equality and women empowerment.
 Long term process.
 Strictly implementation.
 Need for society changes its attitudes.
 Awareness, understanding and action.
