Hydrocele

Definition
• Fluid collection within the tunica vaginalis of
the scrotum or along the spermatic cord.
Epidemiology
• A patent processus vaginalis is found in 80-
90% of term male infants at birth until age 2
years.
• For adults,hydrocele can occur in primer and
secondary.(As increase age ,as increase risk for
hydrocele)
Etiology
• May represent persistent developemental
connections along the spermatic cord
• An imbalance of fluid prodution versus
absorption.
• In rare case,similar fluid collections can
develop in females along the canal of nuck.
Classification
• Hydrocele testis
• Hydrocele Funiculus
• Hydrocele Communicating/Non-
communocating
Clinical Manifestation
• Asymtomatis
• The swelling scrotum that is painless
• The heavy on scrotum
• The size of the scrotum smaller in the
morning.
Therapy
• Usually,baby with hydrocele will let it until the
age 1 years,will hope that prosesus vaginalis
closed and hydrocele will became normal.
• Aspiration and operation.
