History

 1881: The company Eastman Kodak was founded on the "Eastman


Dry Plate Company", company for the manufacture of
photographic plates founded by the inventor George Eastman with
the patronage of the entrepreneur Henry Strong in New York city.
 1888: Eastman invented the name "Kodak" because the "K" was his
favorite letter and he wanted a name that was easy to pronounce in
all countries.
 1891: It opens its first factory in England and sees the first Kodak
camera with interchangeable roll.
 1898: They launch their first camera made of metal, the "Kodak
Folding Pocket".
 1900: Its first Kodak Brownie, for $1.
 1914: Kodak introduces its autographic models, with which you can
write notes in photographs through an opening in the back of the
camera, using a metal pen included in the camera. Unfortunately
 1921: the Kodak was also established in Germany
(great power in terms of photography), founding
after the first world war the factory "Chemische
Werke Odin GmbH" in Ebersbach.
 1926: Kodak takes out its Panchromatic film in
black and white, allowing a higher scale of
tonalities to the current ones.
 1928: It takes out its film KODACOLOR for the
amateur market, which works in 3 colors.
 1934: Kodak launches KODAK Retina at its
Stuttgart plant; the first precission camera in small
format, at the sensational price of only $355.
 1957: Kodak introduces its series of low-cost,
easy-to-use BROWNIE STAR cameras.
 1970: the INSTAMATIC series is introduced, of
which more than 50 million were sold. The
innovation of the camera was that the film was
protected in a cassette and transported
automatically when inserted in the camera.
 80s: Kodak suffered some commercial skids, such as the presentation of
his "Kodak-Disc-System", causing large losses to the company.

 1992: was one of the first to start with digital photography, taking the CD as
we know it today.

 2004: Kodak announced its intention to cancel its analog APS system that it
had released a few years earlier, to concentrate on digital photography.

 2005: Kodak stopped making film in black and white.

 2009: It did the same with its most famous color film, the Kodachrome, after
74 years of production.
