Integrated Learning (CLIL)


What is CLIL

 Is a dual focus educational approach in which an additional language is use for the
learning of teaching of both content and language
 In the teaching learning process, there is a focus not only on content, and not only on
language.
Objetives

 Acquire knowledge using target language


 Acquire necessary skills in target language
 Acquire necessity skills in the mother tongue
 Develop cognitive and social skills
A lesson should combine:

 Content: progression in knowledge, skills and understanding related to specific elements


on a defined curriculum.
 Communication: using language to learn while learning to use language.
 Cognition: developing thinking skills which link concept formation ( abstract and
concrete), understanding and language.
 Culture: exposure to alternative perspectives and share understandings, which depends
awareness of otherness and self.
