Yu-Shu Liu, Guo-Qiang Li
STUDY
METHODOLOGY

• 4 storey frames: Two with infills and Two without.

SETUP
AAC DIMENSIONS

• 600×120×250mm(width×thickness×height), 300×120×250mm and

600×120×150mm
• L type Iron Bracket, 120×120×60×1mm
(length1×length2×Width×thickness), at 500mm Intervals, (two layers of
Masonry Blocks)
• 20mm gap between AAC and Beam
LOADING

• Monotonic Loading- Horizontal Force

• Cyclic Loading- Oscillating

TEST RESULTS

• Frame 1 (Without AAC infilled Wall, static Monotonic Loading), 83kN

TEST RESULTS

• Frame 2 (Without AAC infill, Cyclic Loading)

TEST RESULTS

• Frame 3 (With AAC infill, Monotonic Loading)

• Failure at 137kN
TEST RESULTS

• Frame 4 ( With AAC infilled wall, cyclic Loading)

INTERPRETATION

• With infill is 60% and 50% higher than steel frame without AAC
