responsibility to keep maintain all electric equipment in RPE and all Mill areas, townsite, and
parts of Pangkalan Kerinci city. Also ensure it to working well and efficiently to increasing
reliability of RPE’s performance.

 Electric Motor :

Defenition :
Is a electrical equipment that convert electric energy
into mechanic energy.

Principle Work :
Electric motor work based on electromagnetic
induction principle on Faraday Law.
Faraday Law states that a conductor are place in a
varying magnetic field, EMF (Electromotive Force) are induced
and this emf is equal to the rate of change of flux.

 Motor Starter :

1. Dol (Direct On Line) Starter

This Starting Method is the
simple starting method that
connects the motor directly to the
power supply consist of a Breaker,
Contactor and Thermal Over Relay
(TOR). Dol starter method can
generate starting current amount of
6 times of nominal current.

2. Variabel Speed Drive (VSD)/Inverter

This Method work with change variable of voltage and frequency. With change the
voltage and frequency, speed of motor can controlled. When starting, the motor will be controlled
with low speed and can reduce starting current.

 Replace electromechanical relay to digital relay is needed to
increase sensitivity of relay
