 Barelang Bridge

 Identification
The Barelang Bridge (Jembatan Barelang) is a chain of
6 bridges of various types that connect the islands
of Batam, Rempang, and Galang (Indonesia). Barelang also refers to
the islands themselves, which are all administratively part of the
municipality of Batam. The smaller islands of Tonton, Nipah, and
Setokok (considered parts of the Batam island group) connect Batam
and Rempang. The entire Barelang region covers 715 km².
Some locals call the bridge Jembatan Habibie after Dr. Jusuf
Habibie, who oversaw the project in construction, aiming to
transform the Rempang and Galang islands into industrial sites
(resembling present-day Batam). The concept design for the 6
bridges was proposed by Bruce Ramsay of VSL. Dr. Habibie had
requested that the designs should be based on a variation of
different structural bridge types, in order to introduce & develop
new bridge design & building technologies for the Indonesian
market. Overtime the bridge sites have grown more into a tourist
attraction rather than a transportation route

 Description
The full stretch of all 6 bridges total to 2 kilometers. Travelling
from the first bridge to the last is about 50km and takes about 50
minutes. Construction of the bridges started in 1992 and took names
from fifteenth to eighteenth-century rulers of the Riau Sultanate.
The Tengku Fisabilillah bridge connects Batam and Tonton island. It
stretches for 642 meters and is the most popular bridge of all, being
a cable-stayed bridge with two 118 m high pylons and main span 350
m.Tonton-Nipah Bridge is a cantilever bridge with total length 420 m and
main span 160 m.Setoko-Nipah Bridge is a girder bridge with total length
270 m and main span 45 m.Setoko-Rempang Bridge is a cantilever bridge
with total length 365 m and main span 145 m.Barelang Bridge
(Rempang-Galang Bridge) is an arch bridge with total length 385 m and
main span 245 m. The road deck was constructed using the incremental
launching method, whereby the deck was constructed on the bridge
approach and then launched horizontally by the use of hydraulic jacks
with special sliding bearings out over the previously constructed arch.

 Identification
Niagara Falls is the collective name for three waterfalls that cross
the international border between the Canadian province of Ontario and the
USA’s state of New York. They form the southern end of the Niagara Gorge.
From largest to smallest, the three waterfalls are the Horseshoe Falls, the
American Falls and the Bridal Veil Falls. The Horseshoe Falls lie on the
Canadian side and the American Falls on the American side. They are
separated by Goat Island. The smaller Bridal Veil Falls are also located on
the American side, separated from the other waterfalls by Luna Island.
There are various attractions that people can enjoy in Niagara Falls, six of
them are described here.

 Description
The first to enjoy in Niagara Falls is Cave of the Winds. This
attraction helps people get closer to the falls and go face-to-face with the
pounding waters of the Falls. People can get soaked on the Hurricane Deck
where they are just feet from the thundering waters. Waterproof clothing
and sandals are provided. A trip at night when the Falls are illuminated in a
rainbow of color is really amazing.
The second charm is Maid of the Mist Boat Tour. It is a world-
famous scenic boat tour of the American and Canadian Falls for about a
half-hour ride. People may access the tour via the Observation Tower
elevator at Prospect Point in the state park. The boat operates mid-May
until late October.
The next to visit in Niagara Falls is Niagara Adventure Theater. Here
tourists may enjoy the most powerful and involving film experience that
brings reality to life on a 45 foot screen. Audience members are given the
priviledge to discover the thundering Falls from a completely new and
exhilarating perspective, and plunge over them. The theater shows hourly
and free multi-language headsets are made available.

 Niagara Science Museum is another place to visit. It is a sanctuary for
the preservation and appreciation of old science instruments and
philosophical apparatus.
The fifth point of interest is Niagara’s Wax Museum of History. Here,
life-size wax figures portraying dramatic history of Niagara Falls are presented
to guests. They can see Fort Niagara Scene, Indian Village, old store,
blacksmith and barber shop scenes and how electricity is made. Wax figures of
Julia Roberts, Princess Diana and many more are displayed here, too.
Finally, people can also enjoy Rainbow Air Helicopter Tours above and
around the American and Canadian Falls. The tours start from downtown,
next to the entrance to the Rainbow Bridge, and open from 9am to dusk
when weather permits. The tours operate every day from second weekend in
May until October 31st.
The Niagara Falls are renowned both for their beauty and as a
valuable source of hydroelectric power. Managing the balance between
recreational, commercial, and industrial uses has been a challenge for the
stewards of the falls since the 19th century.

Identification
Raja Ampat is a district and is part of the Province of West
Papua. To reach this archipelago, we must first set foot in the city of
Sorong. Usually many tourists use flights to get to this city. After
reaching the city of Sorong, we can use a type of fast boat that
usually sails twice a day to Waisai, the capital of Raja Ampat district.
The trip will only take about 2-3 hours from the port of Sorong, until
arriving at the port ofWaisai Raja Ampat.
In general, Raja Ampat is an archipelago consisting of numerous
coral islands and is widely distributed throughout its territory.
However, Raja Ampat has 4 of the largest main islands, namely
Waigeo Island, Batanta Island, Salawati Island, and Misool Island.
These four large islands are the starting point for the spread of all
Raja Ampat residents, most of whom work as fishermen. The
territorial waters are the main attraction of Raja Ampat, considering
that Raja Ampat waters are one of the 10 best waters in the entire
world. This is based on various studies on the rich flora and fauna
and the preservation of the marine environment that Raja Ampat
has. 11
 An international conservation agency report once
mentioned that Raja Ampat waters have around 75% of the world's
marine species. In fact, the Raja Ampat sea and land area which has
an area of 4.6 million hectares is home to 540 species of coral, 1,511
species of fish and thousands of other marine biota. Therefore, with
these various advantages it is not surprising that Raja Ampat is
currently considered the most beautiful underwater paradise in the
entire world.

Description
Not only the natural wealth under the sea, Raja Ampat also has
many interesting things above sea level. Lots of beautiful beaches
are scattered throughout the Raja Ampat islands. Generally, this
beach is white sand and has a smooth approach to flour. In addition,
the islands that form a row of high cliffs are also widely found in
Raja Ampat. In fact, several places such as Piaynemo, Kabui Bay, and
Wayag have been known to the whole world first before being
known at home.

 Tropical forests are no less interesting, there are even
places like Sawinggrai village or Saporkrein village that offer an
unforgettable experience of seeing the Cenderawasih bird up
close. As we know, Cenderawasih bird is a rare and beautiful bird
typical of Papua that is often referred to as a bird of paradise.
Many historical relics are also found in the islands that have
ties to the Sultanate of Tidore, Maluku. Starting from the majority
of the population who have the blood of the Moluccan kingdom
of Tidore, relics from the second world war, to caves with
distinctive hand paintings of ancient humans were widespread in
Raja Ampat. Studying the uniqueness of Raja Ampat seems to be
endless, this is what makes this island so victorious today.

 In closing, the beautiful and elegant nature of Raja Ampat is
inseparable from the stories of legends that have been trusted for
generations by all native communities of Raja Ampat. That said,
the name Raja Ampat was taken from seven eggs found by a
woman of their ancestors. Four of them hatched into four princes
who would later become King of the 4 major islands of Waigeo,
Salawati, Batanta, and Misool. While the other 4 become ghosts, a
woman and a stone. This story is traditionally believed by the local
community as the beginning of the founding of Raja Ampat. It is
still hard to believe in common sense, but if we examine the
meaning again, Raja Ampat's realm is a sacred place like a
kingdom that must be protected from damage and destruction.
