GST was first implemented by
France in 1954. A total of 165
countries implemented GST like
Canada, Japan, Australia, New
Zealand etc . And was introduced to
India on 1st July,2017.and India is
following the G.S.T. method as of
canada
Taxation system in G.S.T.
Actually G.S.T. is not just a tax that is applicable to all
the products . it has different tax slabs which makes it
easier to differentiate among different tax for different
products
There are basically 4 tax slabs :-
1) 5% tax slab
2) 12% tax slab
3) 18% tax slab
4) 28% tax slab
GOODS EXEMPTED FROM TAXES COMES UNDER 0% TAX SLAB
NOTE :-Gold and rough diamonds do not fall under
the current rate slab ambit and will be taxed at 3% and
0.25% respectively
