TECHNOLOGY CHANGING THE WAY
INTRODUCTION:

• Technology is constantly improving itself. Before there was printing, people told stories
orally.
• Then theprinting press invented mass produced books. Now books have kept up with
technology and are in screen format.
• The invention of computers ,tablets, and smart phones has changed the way we read.
TEXT BOOKS ARE INTERACTIVE

• With the rise of technology comes a revolution in text books. They are now interactive
with web based content.
• While reading a textbook, students can take assignments with instant feedback, view
animations that aid in understanding the content, view more materials, watch videos, and
experience other content that help with learning.
RESEARCH IS PERFORMED MOSTLY

*By typing words in internet search engines, people can find a huge information on every
subject.
*While reasearch is instantly provided to us, instead of sifting through heavy books for
hours, there are huge amount of information on the internet. This means it takes us more
time to go through pocket of information.
TECHNOLOGY USED TO CHANGE THE WORLD
1.PHONES

• In developing countries the phone is more important than the PC:mobiles are used for
banking,and for forecasting the weather,etc.
• Phones can do even more.
• For example, in Africa cell phone tower data is used to map people’s movemements-an
that maping can helo track diseases such as malaria.
2.DIGITAL IMAGING

• As Imagine technology improves we’ll see our world like never before, both outside and
inside.
• DARPA recently showed off a 1.8 gigapixel surveillance drone that can watch 25 square
kilometers at a time.
3.3D PRINTING

• 3D-printed guns may get the headlines, but the reak effect of 3D printing is likely to be
less sensational and much more useful.
• It’s already helping to revolutionise manufacturing by slashing research and development
costs.
4.BIO HACKING

• Bio hackers could engineer entirely new life forms, good or bad,and the emerging sector
is almost entirely unregulated.
• Friends of the earth has called for a global moratorium on the release if synthetic
organisms. “Until the proper regulations and safety mechanisms have been put in place”.
5.SMALL,SMART SENSORS

• Research firm ON world reckons that in 2017,firms will ship some 515 million sensors
for wearable, implantable or mobile health and fitness devices, and it’s just the tip of an
electronic iceberg.
GOOGLE SEARCH CHANGING US
THE ATLANTIC-(NICHOLAS G.CARR)

• In carr’s view ,reading on the internet is generally for a shallower from in comparision
with reading from printed books in which he believes a more intense and sustained form
a reading is exercised.
SUPPORTING CARR’S ARGUMENT

• While long term psychology and neurological studies have yet to yield definitive results
justifying carr’s argument ,a few studies have provided glumpses into the changing
cognitive habits of internet users.
DIGITAL GENERATION GOING TO BE SMARTER OR
DUMBER
• Imagine one day without smart phone:you would probably be unable to recall your to do
list, find where you need to go,and keep ul with boredom.
• Now remember how much you spent over time on music, travel, movies, and food 10
years ago, and how limited knowledge of anything was before Google and wikipedia.
