ELECTION

What is Election?
• Election is the process of voting
to choose someone to be their
political leader or representative
in government .

Suffrage
• is the right to cast a vote in public
election, and it also includes the
right to be voted in public office.

Types of Suffrage

Prescribes Qualification to
Exercise Suffrage
• a citizen of the Republic of the Philippines;
• at least 18 years old;
• a resident of the Republic of the Philippines
for at least a year, and in the place they are
prescribed to vote for at least six (6) months
immediately preceding the election; and
• a registered voters as prescribed by law.

The Comelec
• THE COMMISSION ON ELECTION (COMELEC) – Pursuant to
Article IX – C Section 1, paragraph 2, the comelec shall have
the following composition.

appointed by the President with the consent of the
Commission on Appointment.
