LANGUAGE FEATURES
• Using noun phrase, example white lion, strong beak, dsb
• Thinking verbs dan feeling verbs untuk mengungkapkan pandangan
pribadi penulis tentang subyek, misalnya I think it is a clever animal, dsb
• Action verbs, misalnya roar, swim, run. Our new puppy bites our shoes.
• Using adjectives, misalnya Fast, wild, amazing, cute, tame, strong, sharp,
etc
• Adverbials, untuk memberikan informasi tambahan tentang perilaku tsb,
misalnya slowly, greedly, at the tree house, dsb.
• Verb be, for example: the lion is wild animal.
• Has/have, for example: the lion has sharp teeth, the lions have sharp
teeth.

PLATYPUS
The word platypus is derived from Greek. Platys means broad and pous means foot. Many people call it
Duckbill because the animal has a bill that like a duckbill. It is native to Tasmania and Southern and Eastern
Australia.

Appereance
Platypus have flat talls and webbed feet. Their body length is 30 to 45 cm and covered with a thick, soft and
wooly layer. Their bills are detecting prey and stirring up mud. Platypuses eyes and heads are small. They
have no ears, but they can sense sounds and light.

Behaviour
Duckbill is shy animals are seldom observed, even in localities where they live. They are active during early
morning and late afternoon. They are excellent swimmers and divers.

Habitat
Platypus live in stream, rivers and lakes. Female platypus usually dig burrows in banks of rivers or streams.
The burrows are blocked with soil in several places to protect them from intruders and flooding. For the nest
female construct a bed of grass, leaves, and woods. Males don;t stay in the burrow.

Breeding
The adult female usually lays two or four eggs. The young animals have no fur when were born. The female
uses its tail to hold the young to its abdomen.
