To collectively empower
farmers and fisher folk and the
private sector to increase
agricultural productivity and
profitability, taking into
account sustainability and
resilience.
The Department of Agriculture is a
government agency responsible
for the promotion of agricultural
development by providing
framework, public investments,
and support services needed for
domestic and export-oriented
business enterprises.
In the fulfillment of this mandate, it
shall be the primary concern of
the Department to improve farm
income and generate work
opportunities for farmers,
fishermen and other rural workers.
It shall encourage people’s
participation in agricultural
development through sectoral
representation in agricultural
policy-making bodies so that the
policies, plans and programs of
the Department are formulated
and executed to satisfy their
needs.

1. Promoting locator and
developer investments in
economic zones particularly in
targeted growth areas and
economic activities, in order to
create more jobs exports, diverse
products and services, and
economic opportunities in these
areas ;
2. Enhancing eco zone
linkages with the local
governments, communities,
businesses and other stakeholders
towards spurring countryside
development and creating
integrated green townships and
industry clusters and ,
3. Continuing to provide a
globally competitive and
sustainable business environment
through effective management
economic zone, efficient
administration of incentives, and
utmost delivery of service.
