Symptoms of dyslexia

– Difficulty putting their thoughts on paper

– Difficulty with right/left directionality
Intervention

– It has been recognized that teaching reading using the phonic method is the
most effective way to support children who are dyslexic
– It follows that it is also beneficial for those children who display any of the
symptoms, but who do not have a formal diagnosis of dyslexia
Remember

– At some point in you class nearly all children will display one or more of these
symptoms. That doesn’t necessarily mean that they are dyslexic
– What ever problems your children present, everyone will benefit from good
practices
