Cutting and mowing hemlock can cause them to
resprout and emit toxic fumes if they have already matured. Don’t burn these plants because can trigger asthma symptoms and risk of developing a reaction. Also use herbicides to kill hemlock. But they are useless after hemlock have sprouted flowers. The best time to use herbicides in late fall or early spring. Before interacting with poison hemlock, wear gloves face mask and other protective cloths to prevent any adverse reaction. After removing hemlock, place the plant in plastic bag before throwing in trash to avoid contamination Hemlock poisoning can be fatal, and there is no antidote. Symptoms can be showing as early as 30 minutes. Severity of poisoning depends on how much hemlock is in your system and how toxic the plant was.
