•Cost-effective interventions include tobacco cessation programs, tobacco taxes, contextually
appropriate mass-media education campaigns to improve diet, community-based physical activity
programmes, and secondary prevention through pharmacological interventions.

•There is an acute need for non-clinical intervention where high prevalence of some risk factors and
chronic diseases overwhelm already weak health systems, and most of the disease screening can be
expensive.

•Rigorous financial management, efficient operational performance, outcome based care and innovative
solutions development need to be stressed upon.

•One more key could be developing public-private partnerships, investing in prevention and well-being,
and learning from industries outside of health care.

•Technological solutions involve investments in virtual health and telehealth which could expand services
while also helping hospitals bend the cost curve. E.g. AI nurses and development in patient engagement
strategies through wearable monitoring and fitness devices.
